“ Been coming to this restaurant for almost 20 years. Always love dining here, good food and good service and can accommodate large parties. I gave one less star for service because one of my take out order was wrong. Ordered chow mein, ginger chicken and shrimp with lobster sauce but got two chow mein and ginger chicken instead But other than that would recommend dining ”
“ One of my favorite restaurants in town right now. Large portions, high quality ingredients and cooking, relatively fair prices, great great hospitality, what else can you ask for? Probably will not go back for their Manchurian or chili chicken/beef on rice, they are ok but definitely not the real gems of this restaurant, so far i am really satisfied with their other dishes like stuffed tofu, beef brisket and beef onion sizzler, they are all great. Definitely gonna keep coming back for all other dishes, this place won’t disappoint. ”
“ Great Hakka restaurant in the city! Saw the TikToks on how great the food is and we had to try. We ordered the Chilli Chicken dry, beef and onion sizzler, and shrimp fried rice. Nothing disappointed! Flavour and spice level we just perfect. The staff are super friendly and fast. Even though it was a busy time, we didn’t have to wait for our food too long ”
“ Was happy to visit this institution for the first time this weekend. Their story is very touching and something most Asian immigrant families can relate to. Toronto’s food scene is so diverse and we’re spoiled by abundance (especially when it comes to regional varieties of Chinese food). That’s also what makes it so difficult for restaurants to stay open year after year; the competition is intense and margins are already low. What yueh tung has done over the last 30 years is really remarkable, and I hope they can continue to keep their doors open. As torontonians, it’s important we support the history that built our city, and so much of that history is embodied in our food. That’s why I will always support restaurants like yueh tung. Hakka food is common in Toronto now, but it’s about more than just Hakka food. Restaurants like this deserve to exist. ”
“ I came here many years ago (before the pandemic) and I was blown away by the pork belly I finally got the chance to come back again for my mom's birthday for lunch. I am STILL amazed by the food here. The pork belly was still extraordinary! The chilli chicken here has a flavour that tastes authentic. It's the best chilli chicken in Toronto. I know that they brought this cuisine over here and you can really tell that it can't be duplicated! The service was very friendly and helpful. Everyone is really nice and the atmosphere is calm and spacious. I love this place so much! Thank you for sticking around ”
“ Happy #lunarnewyear ! had an amazing time today @yuehtungrestaurant First a huge thanks to Jeanette for being super accommodating to us. She didn't have to but she was awesome. Huge thanks for that! The food: It was a set menu and it was so freaking good! The Hakka braised pork belly was insanely tender and cooked perfectly. Definitely my favourite part of the meal! :) The soup was flavourful and tasted great. Big portions of veggies and tofu. A perfect dish for a chilly day. The chili chicken Sizzler; I can tell why this is such a popular menu choice! It was a spot on perfect mix of spicy yet super flavourful chicken, that I am glad I wasn't able to finish it at the restaurant because I got to take it home and I get to eat it again tomorrow. :) The staff: They were great. Amazingly friendly and super attentive. Def no complaints there at all The restaurant: Nicely laid out and comfortable booths as well. Very clean and inviting. Loved it. The #lunarnewyear event: Booked this based on reviews I seen on social media and not gonna lie, I am so happy I saw that. The celebration was so much fun! #dragondance plus the drums; it was an amazing way to celebrate a holiday. It was our first time there and def will not be our last 5/5 - highly recommend! ”
“ Drove from Markham just to try this place and I’m glad it did not disappoint as we do have quite few hakka restaurants near us. My hubby is Hakka so he’s got pretty high standards and he approved - food quality is important and this place does not skimp. Flavours are strong and bold. Of course we had to try the chili chicken and crispy beef and their chicken pakoras (our family faves) so if you go, I recommend these dishes. We also got the Hakka sweet noodles and the wok hei was very good, with the exception of overcooked noodles so they were broken. But overall great experience! ”
“ Really great spot for Hakka food, right downtown. The service here is exceptionally good. The food was amazing and came out very quickly. You can customize the food to suit your tastes so if you want something spicier or more garlic or whatever, they’ll do it. The space is quite large and can accommodate a lot of people easily. 10/10 recommend. ”
